Volunteering

Mentoring and supporting volunteers is our key strength. We attract and retain volunteers because they feel valued and affirmed, as well as feeling part of a team.

We rely on the services of volunteers who give their time freely to help look after the children and to provide the attention they need. There is a role for everyone and training and support is provided from our experienced staff and volunteers.

The role of the volunteer is varied and exiting. The main aim is to get alongside the children and young people in whatever they are doing and to be an encourager.

Just a few of the things volunteers will need to look for:

  • To give encouragement to a child who has low self-expectations.
  • To listen to a child who may be worried or unhappy.
  • To spot and avert possible trouble or danger.
