Welcome to the Exodus Project!

Exodus was formed in the year 2000 by Jackie and Martin whom still manage the project’s operations and development.
From an activity club in the Town Centre of Barnsley and lots of dreams, the project has grown to 14 activity clubs, a weekend activity centre, two charity shops, 12 staff, 60+ volunteers, 3 minibuses and a large white van. We now have projects all over Barnsley including Town Centre, Worsbrough Common, Darfield, Brierley, Cudworth, South Hiendley and Bank End. We have 7 trustees who continue to guide and inspire out vision for the future.

The Exodus Project is a children’s charity, with a Christian ethos based on the Barnsley/Wakefield border at South Hiendley.

We work with children and young people, most from the more disadvantaged communities. Our aim is to divert them from destructive lifestyles and providing alternatives to what they’re normally offered.

As we target less advantaged communities our services are all but free to the young people and children which benefit. So we need those who have to stand along those who have not.

If you’re thinking of running a marathon, riding a bike from coast to coast or walking the three peeks, consider raising sponsorship money to keep our work going…

Any kind of individual or corporate fundraising will be met with huge smiles and heartfelt appreciation from everyone at Exodus.

We also have a monthly giving scheme called “Footsteps”, which enables companies and individuals to support our work regularly, giving us much needed and predictable income.

We can also offer advice and support in establishing a will if you consider leaving a legacy to Exodus. We’re here for the long haul, trying to improve the lives of children and young people in disadvantaged circumstances. You can be assured that any support you give in this way will reap benefits long into the future.
